Caldo Balm! Caldo= Hot!

This balm is a great friend to have around when you have chronic pain, or nerve pain. Try it on the Lower back, neck, shoulders, or hands, and feet. Use it for migraine headaches, muscle cramps, and menstrual cramps.

***Do not put on any open cuts or wounds! Wash your hands very well, and be mindful not to touch your face especially your eyes! Yikes...

This formula is meant to provide circulation, warmth, and pain relief. The herbal and essential oils used in this balm all work harmoniously to promote these actions together.

The beautiful orangey/red color is created by the infusion of these two amazing herbs. Cayenne (Capsicum annuum), & St. Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum). Both of these herbs are helpful with natural pain management. Cayenne has a wonderful warming energy, it has been used for natural pain management for centuries.

Capsaicin is a chemical component found in the herb Cayenne. Capsaicin is responsible for the heat that you feel when you touch it or ingest Cayenne. When you use Cayenne topically Capsaicin works in a unique way by interacting with your nervous system. It stimulates the nerve endings to disperse Substance P. Substance P is a neurotransmitter that sends pain messages from your body to your brain. It is substance P that is telling your brain HEY that hurts!!! This is the interesting thing about Capsaicin, it blocks substance P so your brain can't receive the message, therefore you are not feeling the pain.

Well isn't that amazing! Plants really are so majestic!

The essential oils in this formula support the actions of circulation, warmth, and pain management.

St. Johns Wort infused oil is helpful to relieve neuropathy. Along with Cayenne, they work as a team in this balm.
St. Johns Wort, is an amazing herb that I grew in my garden here in southeast Alaska. It took me two years to finally get it to flower. It was really worth it too, as I used to purchase the dried flowers and leaves from Mountain Rose Herbs to infuse my oil. I noticed that when I used the fresh herb in my infusion this year the color of the finished oil was a nice juicy dark red color, the dry infusion was a rusty light orange color. I was so excited to have this beautiful experience.
